A quick post to let you know—because it hasn’t been publicized—that Is It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? is available for immediate download as a full PDF. Why is this useful? Lots of reasons. I’m letting you know right now because the PDF might not be available soon.
Yes, you probably don’t want to read the entire PDF from your monitor. After all, it’s a big book, one my friend and Huffington Post blogger Michael Laskoff calls “almost ridiculously comprehensive.” (Check out Michael’s archive on Huffington Post for many thought-provoking posts on Adult ADHD and other topics.)
Chiefly, the PDF has been made available so that you can print out a few pages—for sharing with a partner, family member, or other interested parties. For example:
- When your physician knows little about the protocol for prescribing medications for ADHD (as, sadly, many do not), you can print those pages for your physician.
- When your therapist looks blank when you explain that you’re seeking evidence-based strategies for ADHD therapy, offer those pages.
- (But really, your physician and therapist could get a conference worth of education by reading the book itself. Here’s a flyer you can print and bring to them.)
- When you’re trying to reach through the “denial” of an adult with ADHD who isn’t big on reading, it’s much less intimidating for that person to read a few pages than face an entire book.
- And much more, including answers to common myths about ADHD (available here as a free excerpt).
- The table of contents is summarized here.
Here in Silicon Valley, my geek-minded friends say they’ve uploaded the PDF to their various electronic readers.
We’re not sure how long this PDF will be available. So if you’re interested, best not to delay. It’s $9.95 by itself but comes free with purchase of the book (for $21.95, with free delivery). Here’s the link to order.
